About Us! What we are and what we do.

The Northville Amateur Radio Association is a semi-informal group of amateur radio operators. We are primarily in the greater New Milford area, but serve the entire Litchfield County area and the help at the state level if needed. The purpose of our group is to:

   1) Help further the amateur radio hobby by educating and assisting newly licensed operators.
   2) Educate those who wish to become amateur radio operators and those in the general public.
   3) Provide communications support for local area events as requested. This helps keep our emergency operatings skills sharp, and helps provide an added factor of safety or support during the event for it's participants. This association will NOT provide communications for commercial gain, solely for safety.
   4) We will provide communications as needed during an emergency (such as during a natural or man-made disaster) when other communications systems become impaired by any means.
   5) We will work closely with state and local officials to help ensure that item 4 (above) can be accomplished effectively. We will also work closely with A.R.E.S., Skywarn, A.R.R.L., and other amateur radio organizations to accomplish these goals.

This page is meant to be our basic "mission" statement. This page will change over time as our organization grows and expands. This page IS NOT a legal document of any type. The Northville Amateur Radio Association, it's members, or anyone else involved cannot guarantee that we can do anything. We are a volunteer organization and strive our best to meet these goals.
