NA1RA
The Northville Amateur Radio Association operates several repeaters throughout the greater Litchfield County area of Connecticut. Our goal is to provide as much coverage into, out of and throughout the area as possible using minimal resources. We also operate an Echolink interface to the repeaters for extended coverage via VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Please see the ECHOLINK web site if you would like to learn more or get involved!

** New Milford has two receivers, if you use 77.0 Hz PL tone, then you will be using the co-located receiver in New Milford. If you use 192.8Hz, you will be using the remote receiver in Washington CT. This receiver has wider coverage area than the co-located receiver and is less susceptible to interference; however, this receiver has a greater chance of failing due to the fact that it requires the repeaters to be linked together. To be better prepared, please PROGRAM BOTH into your radio using two memory slots.
Please note that ALL of our repeaters are linked full time. This means that you should key up for a period of at least two seconds before you start to talk, or your first words could be cut off since the remote transmitters do not come up on air instantly. Also, it is very important to WAIT for courtesy beeps to happen before you reply to a station as this will allow emergency traffic or other stations who wish to join your conversation to get in between your replies. This also allows the time out timers to reset so that you do not time out the repeaters.
We are capable of providing links using our repeaters to the KB1AEV system owned and operated by Dana Underhill KB1AEV linked repeater system. Echolink can also be used provided that Internet bandwidth is available (example, Internet bandwidth was very limited during the 9/11 disaster and Echolink would most likely not have been useful for emergency communications).
